🌱 Small Habits, Big Impact!

🌏Small habits, when combined with great innovation, can create significant positive change.

On September 13, we held our 2nd SgIC Sustainability Market and Plant Swap at the P&G Singapore Innovation Center (SgIC). This year we focused on food sustainability, joining forces with local brands that have developed some thoughtfully innovative sustainable products. Some highlights:

🥖 Food Waste Reduction: Mono.sg, a social enterprise shared helpful tips on how to use the "look, smell, taste" test for safe consumption, instead of just relying on "best before dates". UglyFood challenged the notion that "ugly" food is undesirable, encouraging us to reduce food waste by accepting fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be rejected for cosmetic reasons. GoodHood.SG, a digital app, made sharing excess items with the community a breeze.

🌾 Urban Farming: We explored innovative approaches to urban farming, such as vertical farming systems like Agrihome SG. We discovered organic solutions and water-saving technologies from Vidaverde and Littlebotany.

🍄 Circular Farming: Mushroom buddies demonstrated circular farming by growing mushrooms on logs made of eco-friendly ingredients that can be composted as fertilizer at the end of their life cycle.

🌌 Sustainable Ingredients: the moonbeam co., an impact startup, showed how spent grains can be transformed into sustainable products. Meanwhile, Just Produce shared their mission to establish sustainable farming practices and responsible sourcing of fresh and unique veggies.

🍰 Delightful Bakes: We savored delicious treats from a Bakery Brera, a local bakery with a heart for the community and sustainability.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants emphasizing that sustainability is an everyday activity, a collective responsibility, and easier to embrace than expected. Congratulations to Silvia B.Charito VariasXin Ying SeahPatrick KhooMoganeshwari Shanmugam RajooHector Esquinca and Yuko Nakamura on another successful event!

We're excited to continue this journey, urging everyone to take small, impactful steps toward a more sustainable future! 🌟🌏 #SustainabilityMatters #FoodEdition #GreenInitiatives #TheFutureMakers
