From Formulator to Researcher

Rochelle Anne Rivera, a seasoned Process Formulator with 18 years of experience, is now making waves as a products researcher in body care products, developing iconic brands in P&G Beauty such as Old Spice, Olay and Safeguard for Procter & Gamble Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

In this role, Rochelle collaborates closely with a multifunctional team to strategize the launch of irresistibly superior products and packages across AMA. Managing multiple brands in various countries and product forms is no small feat, but she’s been fearless.

Rochelle started her journey with P&G as an intern at the P&G Beijing Innovation center before becoming an official P&Ger. She eventually moved to the P&G Singapore Innovation Center (SgIC) where she’s demonstrated leadership in a number of ways:

🤝 Fostering Collaboration with commercial partners, including in Scientific Communications and bioscience (David Khoo and Gabriel Liew), that have sparked fruitful cross-fertilization of ideas. Together, they conceptualized a toolbox that allowed KOLs across ASEAN to conduct experiments at home during COVID, amassing over 1 million unique views in the region.

⚡ Driving Digital Innovation: Working with the robotics and Safeguard team (Haibo Yuan, Siti Nazurah Ahmad) at the SgIC, Rochelle played a key role in developing and validating ARM-E, a robot that was trained to affix labels to test products. This digital advancement aimed to improve label quality and efficiency, ultimately reducing manual labor hours for consumer studies from over 32 to just 9.

🏆 Delivering Results: Leveraging the expertise of teams in SGIC, Rochelle successfully introduced a new product variant in Pakistan within just six months. Her first quantitative study, supported by Perfume Design and Product Stability modelling, resulted in a measurably superior product.
